The amount of love and enthusiasm I have for these Etsha weavers is hardly containable. I'm so excited to be working on a long term basket project with Peter Mabeo, Katenya, and the team of talented weavers. They will be making very small to very large baskets with very beautiful, diverse patterns—just for us! The names of the patterns are really fun: knee of the kudu, zebra forehead, tears of the giraffe, knees of the tortoise, and the running ostrich.

I guess the word spread that we were in town to buy baskets and all of a sudden ladies were showing up with giant baskets to show us.
