Fuglen brings the acclaimed Norwegian Icons exhibition to Soho

Norway Takes Manhattan

Von Ambra Medda

Following on successful exhibitions in Oslo and Tokyo, Norwegian Icons: Important Norwegian Design comes to Mulberry Street in New York. Organized by Fuglen in collaboration with Blomqvist, this exhibition shines a much deserved light on midcentury furniture and decorative art from the Land of the Midnight Sun. Go Norway!

The pieces on view are simple and well-made—just as modernist design should be—and the forms, color palettes, and woods are delightful. Everything makes you think about a comfortable, cozy, and balanced lifestyle. I especially love the tableware in silver with colorful enamel.

It's clear that Fuglen made a huge effort, and I'm so proud to support their mission to celebrate their national heritage.
