Serbian Marija Mandić presents her Margo Rug

Marija & Margo

Marija Mandić is a true multi-talent. Over the past few years, her work has ranged from photography and video to fanzines, illustration, and more. This year, the young Serbian creative decided to try her hand(s) at weaving, and produced her very first rug: the sweetly designed, charmingly named Margo. Inspired by Marija's own illustrations, the handwoven, cream wool rug features petite pops of color and a subdued yet joyful pattern.

Describing her approach to her newfound textile passion, Marija tells us, "I think that a person who creates  has one note that is recognizable, no matter what media he or she uses. When you have an idea, no matter what media are you using, you can express yourself."

Take a peek at the Margo Rug below (which can be made in custom colors and sizes) as well as a few pics from Marija's Novi Sad home-slash-studio, where each Margo is lovingly made.
