A kaleidoscope of design talent

We covered a lot of ground on our third day here in Milan, and encountered so many wonderful projects along the way (more to follow soon!). Last stop on today’s Fuorisalone 2014 tour, however, was Kvadrat’s Divina presentation in the San Gregorio district—a calming, kaleidoscopic finish to a lively day.

Divina includes the work of nearly two dozen stellar talents—Bethan Laura Wood, Martino Gamper, Max Lamb, and Minale-Maeda, to name a few—all of whom were invited to develop designs using Kvadrat’s intensely hued line of wool felts. With such a deep, rich rainbow of colors at play, it was pleasure to see each designer adapt the material to his or her own unique approach.

Top standouts included Robert Stadler’s deep blue, elegantly fluid shelves; Peter Marigold’s charming patchwork seating collection; and Werner Aisslinger’s Joe-Colombo-esque Nesting Hexagons.
