Architectural, minimal, and beautifully crafted, the panga panga wood Rothko Serving Boards were designed by award-winning Swedish studio Claesson Koivisto Rune and produced by Botswana furniture maker Peter Mabeo, working in collaboration with local artisans using sustainably harvested materials. Segno Italiano specializes in the modern manufacture of traditional and historically important Italian, artisanal pieces. For the (customizable!) gold-plated copper Casseruola Bombata Oro and the silver-plated copper Casseruola Bombata Argento, the design editors collaborated with skilled craftspeople in northern Italy who specialize in transforming shapeless masses of copper into valuable cooking tools—essential to a culture of good food. Brazilian designer Bruno Jaharra's Multiplastica Domestica Collection features super colorful vessels made from plastic litter collected by the cooperative National Recycling Group in Sāo Paulo. For their new, handmade Burnt Chopping Boards, French designers Alban Le Henry and Noé Borst embraced pyrography—the art of burning decorative illustrations into wood.
