Atelier Biagetti's knockout show

Body Building

We've been running around Milan all week, soaking up as much design as possible, and thoroughly enjoying the sites and sounds of Salone. One of our favorite shows thus far is Atelier Biagetti's playful Body Building exhibition, which has transformed the atelier into a brightly lit "anti-gym," full of luxe, beautifully crafted exercise and exercise-inspired accessories.

A reflection on society's obsession with beauty, fitness, and perfection—as well as, according to Alberto Biagetti, a response to one very ugly step-machine that his wife and partner Laura Baldassari brought home not so long ago—the collection features one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted pieces with exquisite details: pilates balls in metallic leather and fur, a neon chandelier made of gymnast rings with electric blue pony skin details, a pink-crystal topped coffee table that rests on hexagonal steel dumbbells, silver leather pommel horses, and carpets in contrasting colors inspired by the markings of various sports courts—among other pieces. In coordination with the launch, Adidas has also produced the Atelier Biagetti-designed ZX FLUX shoe, which is available exclusively through the 19th at the Antonioli group’s new concept store, INNER.

Body Building is a collaboration between Alberto Biagetti and Laura Baldassari, curated by Maria Cristina Didero. It runs til Sunday this week at Atelier Biagetti: Piazza Arcole 4 Milano Zona Naviglio Grande - M2 Porta Genova.
